The series of black and white pictures Robert Kot presents for the JBP Award is a selection from a ‘work in progress', something always going on, a larger piece which continuously creates new ideas and new images. We could almost say it is a journal of his observations; it's a personal travelbook.  In surplus, Robert Kot tries to find a sort of imaginary context through these images, not only showing a simple registration of reality, but also stretches to a more conceptual or figurative side. Topographique portraits where reality mingles with fiction in a world almost imaginary.
